A two-day workshop about the Encounter between Science and Spirituality was held on July 19, 2016 and July 21, 2016 at NDU, main campus.
In the context of its continuous work on encounters between sciences and spirituality, the Benedict XVI Endowed Chair of Religious, Cultural, and Philosophical Studies invited the NDU community to participate in this two-day workshop. Students and instructors, who work mainly in the fields of psychology and counseling therapy, were encouraged to recognize the importance of psychological integrity and to understand the human being in a multidimensional way, where body, psyche and spirit meet.
This workshop focused on the use of the top 10 relational needs in a play therapy context, where NDU students, faculty and staff experienced a new scope of counseling using games and exercises leading to healthier and more harmonious relations. Dr. Linda Homeyer, Full Professor at Texas State University, and Mr. Marshall Lyles (MA Psychotherapy), Executive Director of programs at the Relational Care Center, both traveled from the USA to NDU Lebanon and were very happy to find that the NDU community has a very high level of relational needs awareness.
The workshop helped participants understand how thoughts, emotions and actions converge for productive, peaceful, and fruitful results.
